Hidden Beauty — Gouache Painting Print on Stretched Canvas

I do love old stone buildings surrounded by lovely gardens, so I had a wonderful time painting this piece. I first painted it in gouache on watercolor paper. I let it dry overnight, then I painted the entire piece with black India ink and let it dry overnight again. The next day, I ran the entire piece under water and scrubbed as much of the India ink away as would come off. The rest of the ink settled into the parts of paper where there was no gouache (and it won’t come off). I think it gives the painting an old world look!
